The videos and tiktok esk side makes it fun to hear my target language and I love how they (for Japanese) focus on kanji and the answer has the furigana.

I don’t ever leave reviews.  Memrise provides natural speaking habits of your target language and works on listening skills in a way that no other app I’ve found does. I recently started Japanese and I can say that Memrise is great at all languages!

Is Na'vi difficult to learn for English speakers?

Na'vi is a constructed fictional language created by linguist Paul Frommer for James Cameron's Avatar films — so while there is no formal proficiency benchmark, it is one of the more linguistically complete and challenging constructed languages available to learners. Unlike Toki Pona or Dovahzul, Na'vi was designed with real linguistic rigour, featuring a complex grammar including tripartite case marking (where subjects of transitive and intransitive verbs are marked differently), infixes that insert into the middle of words rather than attaching as prefixes or suffixes, and a fairly extensive vocabulary of several thousand words. That said, Na'vi has no tones, uses a Latin-based transcription, and benefits from a passionate fan community that has expanded and documented the language extensively since 2009. Memrise structures Na'vi learning around the core vocabulary and grammatical patterns, making it accessible for fans who want to engage more deeply with the world of Pandora.

How long does it take to learn Na'vi?

Na'vi has no formal proficiency benchmark, but most dedicated learners reach a solid conversational level within one to two years of regular study — longer than Toki Pona or Dovahzul, but faster than comparably complex natural languages, given the finite and well-documented vocabulary of several thousand words. The infix system and tripartite case marking take real effort to internalise, making it one of the more grammatically demanding constructed languages, but the passionate global fan community has produced excellent learning resources that make the journey more accessible. Memrise focuses lessons on the core vocabulary and grammatical patterns documented by Paul Frommer, giving learners a structured and enjoyable path into the language of Pandora.
