Cecilie sitter på stua med en kopp kaffe og leser avisa
Cecilie (is) sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper.
Telefonen ringer
The telephone rings.
Hallo?
Hello?
Hei Cecilie, det er mamma!
Hi, Cecilie, it's mamma!
Hei, mamma! Hvordan har du det?
Hi, mamma! How are you?
Bare bra, takk. Og du?
Just fine, thanks. And you?
Jeg har det fint!
I'm fine! (lit. I have it fine.)
Gjett hvor jeg var i morges!
Guess where I was this morning!
Jeg vet ikke … Var du på jobb?
I don't know ... were you at work?
Nei, jeg var i barnehagen sammen med Alex
No, I was in the kindergarten together with Alex.
Å, så spennende!
Oh, so exciting!
Hvordan gikk det med ham?
How did it go with him?
Det gikk veldig bra
It went very well.
Han var litt sjenert i begynnelsen, men det gikk fort over
He was a little shy in the beginning, but it was (went) quickly over.
Likte han seg der?
Did he (reflexive) like it there?
Fant han noen kamerater?
Did he find some friends (cf. venn)?
Ja da. Først var han veldig alvorlig og hilste på alle sammen
Sure (lit. yes then). First he was very serious and greeted everyone.
Så begynte han å bygge med lego sammen med en annen gutt
Then (cf. da) he began to build with Lego with another boy.
Alex var veldig nysgjerrig og spurte gutten om mange forskjellige ting
Alex was very curious and asked the boy about many different things.
De lekte veldig godt sammen
They played very well together.
Litt seinere kom Alex bort til meg og sa:
A little later Alex came over to me and said:
Du mamma, nå har jeg en ny bestevenn. Han heter Jens!
(You) Mamma, now I have a new best friend. He's called Jens!
Det var ikke dårlig!
It was not bad!
Og hvordan var personalet i barnehagen?
And how were the staff in the kindergarten?
De virket veldig hyggelige og flinke
They seemed very nice (cf. fine, koselig) and competent.
Det er bra. Men er du hjemme allerede?
That's good. But are you home already?
Ja, jeg kom hjem for ti minutter siden
Yes, I came home ten minutes ago (split preposition).
Etter en time sa Alex til meg:
After an hour Alex said to me:
Du mamma, nå kjenner jeg barnehagen
(You) Mamma, now I know [enough about] the kindergarten.
Du kan bare gå hjem og kose deg med avisa
You can just go home and relax (reflexive) with the newspaper.
Jeg er stor nå, vet du
I am big now, you know.
Så flott! Det gikk jo veldig bra!
So great! That went very well!
Cecilie snakker lenge i telefonen
Cecilie talks [for a] long [time] on the telephone.
Hun forteller mer om Alex
She tells more about Alex.
Han har det veldig bra og virker lykkelig
He is doing very well (cf. god) and seems happy. (He has it very good...)
Hun forteller også om Dina og Benjamin og om huset og naboene
She also tells about Dina and Benjamin and about the house and the neighbors.
Det var mange gode nyheter
There was lots of good news.
