Women have influenced all areas of society, from science to politics, and language learning is no exception. As we celebrate Women's History Month, it's important to recognize the impact that women have had on language learning.

At Memrise, we believe that music is a powerful tool for language learning, and this Women's History Month, we are proud to celebrate the music of influential female musicians. We have created a series of music lessons based on songs from some of the most influential female musicians in the world, including Angèle and Shakira. These lessons allow learners to practise their language skills while enjoying the music of some of the most talented women in the music industry.

We’ve picked out three songs by artists who are all about female empowerment - take your pick!

Women continue to face many challenges in society, including misogyny and sexual harassment. At Memrise, we believe in empowering women to stand up for themselves, which is why we've created a new lesson that teaches women how to assert themselves in everyday conversations. This lesson is available in French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Korean, and is just one of the ways that we're working to promote gender equality and empower women around the world.

Choose one of six languages and start becoming confident in asserting yourself in another language!

Everyone at Memrise is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in language learning, and we are proud to celebrate the incredible women who have made this possible.
