Same words show up again and again.
This is probably related to the current performance issues somehow, but today I noticed that certain specific words 炸, 搅拌, 拌 are showing up again and again even though I'm getting them right every time.
I'm pretty sure Ben corrected this in my account the last time it happened. It looks like the bug that allows the condition to occur hasn't been fixed though.
I also have one word that keep showing up all the time as wilting even though I get it right all the time. Is there any way to solve this?
Posted by fventero 7/9/12 (10 months ago)^Me too. I'm learning Mandarin HSK and "color (se4)" is still wilting even though I've watered numerous times. It is the only word that this happens to. This just started to happen today.

In the last two days, Memrise has been having some kind of problem--its not mentioned on their blog, but it seems to be performance related. As the system fails, weird things like this start to happen. That's my theory at least.
Posted by carl_a 7/9/12 (10 months ago)@carl_a I am very sorry about this, if you leave a comment on the words that you are having trouble with I will check them out and fix them ASAP. The same for everyone else - when you next see the word if you click "start discussion on the word" and just leave a comment explaining the issue, I will get it fixed.

As I think I mentioned somewhere elsewhere, the number on my landing page is also wrong. All the words from lists I created are added, even though I haven't learned them yet. That was another discouraging bug, because I now no longer have any idea how many words I've learned. Early on, that was a motivator though.

It seems that there are some edge cases (of which you are one, sorry to describe you as an "edge case" - it sounds somehow derogatory which it isn't supposed to be! I am just trying to say that for most people the words learned count is working, but there are some people, including you unfortunately, for whom it is not working quite right) where the current "words learned" number is not correct for all users, and that is something that these updates will fix. But they need to run fast and without slowing the rest of the site down before we release them.

Posted by benwhately 7/10/12 (10 months ago)There were words that were being harvested but not showing in the list. What I found out that worked is to actually intentionally get the word wrong. This fixed the issue so maybe it will fix yours.
