I found this in a course, "a lo mejor" translated by "it's probably just that".
Is that a Spanish expression and the translation is correct.
I had the impression that it would rather mean "at best".

The translation you found is a good one. A lo mejor means "may be". Eg.: A lo mejor no ha llegado todavĂa. ( May be she hasn't arrived yet.
