I must add that I have no idea how Ben manages his time while staying on top of everything, responding to email, questions, posts and applying requested modifications. Un grand coup de chapeau pour Ben.
Posted by sfrenchie 6/10/12 (11 months ago)That is very kind indeed, thank you!
The whole team is working absolutely flat out, so you should see some more big steps forward coming down the pipeline over the next few months. And do please keep on giving your feedback to let us know what you would like us to be focusing on - that is crucial to keeping us on the right track!
Best wishes,
Ben
Posted by benwhately 6/12/12 (11 months ago)high five for Ben and his team of minions :)
Posted by emma.kostelijk.9 6/12/12 (11 months ago)Yes - a big thank you from me too. What I find so good about Memrise compared to other websites for learning Chinese characters that I've looked at is the way the characters are broken down into the component elements, which are learned first, so that you 'read' a character to understand it, rather than trying to memorise the whole character as an image.
Posted by Catt 6/13/12 (11 months ago)I don't think there is any doubt in saying, Memrise is one of the best things that happened to Internet in the recent past. It's truly one of the most underrated gems on the web. Thank you for Memrise, Ben and Co.
Posted by breenglue 6/13/12 (11 months ago)Thank you very much for all your thanks! I will pass it on to the rest of the team (who are, in fact, much more deserving of praise that I am), as I know that they will be very pleased to hear it!
Best wishes

Posted by benwhately 6/14/12 (11 months ago)I hereby join the praise of and thanksgiving to Ben and the memrise crew. I never thought I could learn Irish until this came along. I actually found out about it through an Irish Times columnist called Roisin Ingle (who is usually a bit dopey, but hey), and thought I'd give it a go, as she stressed that she'd always considered herself a dunce at foreign languages (as had I). My Irish has come on so much since then, all thanks to this website, and my fluent Irish-speaking fiance is so impressed and pleased (especially as we want to bring up our children bilingually through English and Irish, which would have left me a bit isolated until now!)
Also, Ben has always responded so quickly and helpfully to any problems I've mentioned in these forums, even though I know he must have a lot on his plate. It's really appreciated, so thanks ever so much!

Posted by aingeal 6/14/12 (11 months ago)Dammit, I misspelt 'hereby'. If only one could edit comments! >_<
Posted by aingeal 6/14/12 (11 months ago)In an effort to be worthy of your thanks, I have now removed the typo!
That is such a great story to hear - it really does keep the spirits up to know that Memrise really has an impact on people's lives; thank you so much for sharing it!
Best wishes

Posted by benwhately 6/14/12 (11 months ago)Thanks Ben, again. You're really too great!

Posted by alanh 6/15/12 (11 months ago)I mean obviously I don't really know you, but I have this feeling that you rule. Thanks a lot.
Posted by jwd52 7/30/12 (9 months ago)Sorry I didn't see this thread before. As users we are unable to judge the contribution af any of the 'backroom' guys but we can see what Ben does for us nearly every day of the week.
memrise is an excellent system and has enormous potential. At the moment there are plenty of things that need improving on this site - but Ben is one of the best features. So, yes, thank you Ben - keep up the outstanding work.
Posted by revans 7/31/12 (9 months ago)High Five to the entire Memrise Team!!!
Posted by cshaiku 8/4/12 (9 months ago)I totally agree. It is amazing how much Ben puts up with from us. I like that our feedback is heard and gets prompt responses. Good job memrise!
Posted by Estrelleta 8/6/12 (9 months ago)I haven't seen Ben making my requested additions for the past few days. Hopefully, he is just taking a few needed days off or is occupied by more pressing matters. I do worry that my stream of wiki change suggestions eventually overwhelmed him, though lol. I hope this site is monetized in some way or some admin responsibilities are delegated to a few more people because it really feels like a one man show at times, which worries me.
Posted by Big_Kahuna 8/6/12 (9 months ago)@Big_Kahuna, apologies for the slowness - I am in the UK at the moment working with the team (it certainly isn't a one man show!) on both ironing out bugs and planning our next phase of development, which is keeping me from the forums. I am going to do my best to catch up today, so hopefully you will see those changes made!
Best wishes

Posted by ikenaiAndi 8/7/12 (9 months ago)every click and tap we make is really a thumbs up and high five for people like Ben and his team. Thank you for memrise. World is better place and learning is finally interactive as it was always meant to be.
Posted by Vino 8/8/12 (9 months ago)The world of memrise is a constant joy. Thank you all. I'm going on a cruise for two weeks and wonder what will happen to my gardens while I'm gone. I don't know what the proper venue is to ask this question, but I drop my message in this bottle to see if it lands on an inhabited island.
Posted by Dah 9/11/12 (8 months ago)Yes, thanks indeed for the great site. I can't wait to see the new version, which I expect will be even better. But even with the old site I've learned 500 plus words in under a month and no end in sight. I've rekindled all my lifelong urges to learn other languages which I had given up because I got bogged down in all the hard work. Memrise is making it so easy and fun, everything's possible again! I'm so excited!
