Constipado...ah what a fun word! But what's the truth about it?
Everybody on Internet translate it by having a cold, being congested...even Babylon translator shows that definition. However I spoke with my friend in Mexico, she is a translator and she says that during school while doing medical translation they were told it was wrong, it was a misused of this word. It seems that constipado would indeed mean constipated and congested would be congestionado. If fact in Mexico they just say tener gripe or tener un catarro.
So, what's the truth about it all?

Posted by sfrenchie 5/30/12 (11 months ago)Well my Spanish students are constantly telling me they're constipated during the winter and I can see clearly that they mean their nose. :D We always have a good laugh when they realize what they actually told me.
