Dear Minuska, I started to add Pedrup´s audio files to the Czech-German courses - do you think you could send yours to me as well?
Or would you even upload the others in these courses?
Best wishes,
Doralina

Adding sound to the words is so great! I just love it. It's the icing on the lovely big word cake Mango made. You curators are wonderful, thanks for all your hard work.
sorry guys I am little busy at this moment.. will have more time next week and will do more audios - I usually send them in groups of 100 to John for upload.. easier than one at a time..
ok the most common list is finished for now - once Ben has time to upload it, it should be there.. I won't be around for a few days, so other courses need to wait.. if you have a wishlist which course to do as next - let me know :)
Just want to say to everyone: if you're learning a set without sound make sure you know pronunciation rules! There was nothing less understandable than me asking for a ticket to Třebíč and pronouncing it "Treh-beck" when I first moved to CZ.
Is it possible to create audio only courses? i.e. you hear the Czech word and have to either select the word from a list or type the word in? That would really sharpen up people‘s listening skills.
One small quibble. The sound level of words varies. Some sounds are so low they can barely be heard, others blow your head off they are so loud. I am not sure if anything can be done about that.
I try to do all my audio inputs on same level of sound, but can't do anything about the other recordings... tho it is a valid problem and it definitely should be mentioned to developers of the site..
Hey guys, as a newbie here, I've got some questions please: Can I record my own audio files and start adding them to courses? Do you have any advice on that in general? I noticed most of the audio was of great quality*. I understand it is not possible to delete the files atm.
Also, on a different note, the editing interface doesn't work, does it?
*Although in the French course there was a couple of words with a voice that was pretty far from native.)
@daneeq, it would be great if you could help out by recording audio! I can make you curator of any topic that you would like to add audio to, and you can then upload audio files one-by-one to words. Alternatively, there are instructions on how to mass record audio here - http://www.memrise.com/faq/audio-uploading/
If you spot any audio files that sounds like they are not from a native speaker =, please do leave e comment on the word and I will look into it at once,

Posted by predrup 6/1/12 (11 months ago)@predrup, that's an excellent idea.. It's not currently doable, but why not suggest it in the suggested features forum?
