"a tarte" instead of "a torta"
Both "tarte" and "torta" are baked, both may be delicious (;-D)... but as pies are usually round (at least that's the definition in my dictionary), "tarte" is a better translation to "pie" than "torta". "a torta" will still be accepted as an alternative.

Could you please find a picture how "a torta" looks like?

So, if you could try to google "torta de laranja", for example, maybe you would find it and then post the link, so that other people could learn the difference as well.
