Bugs iPod Memrise App won't let me download wordsets

Hey,

Recently subscriber to the amazing idea that is Memrise. Have been an avid PC user of the website and decided to try and get the app working. I have an iPod 4th Gen iOS 5.1, live in the UK and loaded up Memrise and signed in with the account that I currently use.

I tried downloading Mandarin Survival, Introductory French and Introductory Italian but everytime I get an error message saying that it couldn't connect to Memrise.com. It only ever reaches halfway on the progress bar before producing the error bar. I tried restarting the app and logging in and out but that didn't work. Can I do anything?
