The big project that is coming to fruition this week is the new version of the dashboard. This will make it easier to keep track of your learning, and to find where your learning attention is most needed. It will also make the separation clear between lists and courses. This is in the final stages of development and should be live on the site late this week or early next.
When the Harvest test was removed the algorithm should have been unchanged. Many of you have reported however that there was an issue in how it was implemented that led to the first watering time being 12 hours, rather than the intended 4 hours. We are about to put out a fix for this so that after full growing a new word, the first watering will be after 4 hours, just as the old harvest was. The only difference will be the name of the session, not the behaviour. My sincere apologies for the annoyance and confusion that this caused.
The Memrise Android app is out! http://bit.ly/17TS4pD
So head to the google play store and get learning on the go.
Once again a huge thank you to everyone who has been giving such in depth and insightful feedback over the last four weeks.
The iOS version is with the Apple app store, just awaiting the green light to put it live - we are really sorry not to do both apps at the same moment, but since the Android version was ready to go and so eagerly awaited, it seemed a little unfair to artificially withhold it while we waited for the app store to give us the go ahead. We anticipate the ok from apple in the next day or two and will put it live as soon as we can!
The first release is, of course, the start of the real work! We have got a first update ready to go out next week, and will be releasing more updates every week. So please do keep the feedback coming!
More of the same in cat-land: improvement to the game dynamic, combined with content work to expand and enrich the range of words and phrases that the cats are teaching. A source of constant joy!
