Quiz error causes course to be stuck

The quiz in my course "dmheikin Chinese Tales of New Year" asked me for the English translation for the word "story," which, of course already is in English. So I wrote "story" thinking we could just move on, but a popup from my browser (Chrome) said "oops, we were looking for the English translation so try again. The next time I wrote Gu4 Shi5 because I know that to be the Chinese translation, but I got the same popup looking for the English translation. The quiz is now stuck. This is for the same course for which somebody else's picture has taken the place where my own picture had once been!

  • I'm sorry, I think this is part of the temporary reversal we just started on the site. ( http://www.memrise.com/thread/1063457/ ). Items are slowly getting flipped back so this particular test will work again soon, and lots of mandarin is already working.

  • You can always press the stop button to get out of the quiz.

  • All kinds of strange things are happening in the quizzes now. Roughly every third word is not displayed properly. After I mash the keyboard, I get a popup error that says it's not displaying properly and suggests I reload the page. I've also got the error where it shows me the English and asks for the English—it totally accepted the English word as the answer.

I'm just going to quit using this for the rest of the day and hope everything's fixed by tomorrow.

  • I just read the comment in the "Temporary Mandarin-English Reversal" discussion (http://www.memrise.com/thread/1063457/) that these changes will be going on until probably Sunday. Oh well... Guess I'm taking a break for a few days.
