iOS Developers
We want to make learning people’s favorite playtime activity. Our suite of mobile apps is key, and we’re looking for people with the imagination and talent to conceive and build apps that’ll add new layers of magic to the Memrise learning experience.
If you’re skilled in HTML5 and Objective-C, or you think you can learn those skills fast, and if you have a love of learning and the desire and skill to create truly meaningful mobile experiences, then you should join our awesome team. A background in the gaming industry would be a plus.
Front-end Engineer / UX / UI
We’re looking for a skilled front-end engineer with a knack for helping to conceive and build intuitive user-interfaces that answer to learners’ needs. In this role your loves are detail, usability, simplicity. You’re at ease across HTML/CSS/Javascript, you dig Python, and you’re a lively and astute communicator.
You'll be joining a team of creative designers and engineers. Experience here not essential, but proof of skill a must. It's in this department -inventing new ways of interacting with knowledge to land it beautifully in the brain- that the creative energy of the company as a whole is most directly expressed. So applicants should be at their best working in a team, they should be inventive, hard-working and capable of sustained periods of creative energy.
Film-maker / Sound Designer / Animator
You are immersed in visual culture; skilled in video-editing; adept at image and sound manipulation; you’re outgoing and wildly creative. All the better if you speak and love languages and you understand intuitively the connection between learning and pleasure.
We’re looking for Memrise to be a sensory wonderland of learning, and we’re seeking an in-house visual-effects guru to form the kernel of a community-wide drive to bring learning to life. Responsibilities will include: conceiving, filming, editing and uploading videos; creating videos and animations to illustrate the company and our ideas; playing around with sound-effects- and discovering and organizing a network of creative people to aid in that effort.

We have free space into which we’ll welcome artists and philosophically minded unemployed people to hang about with us and help explore these questions, keeping us true to our mission to reinvent learning from the ground up.
